I Love Celebrating Women in Business

Recently, I started working with a new marketing coach. We began our conversation with the customary: “So, Venniece, what do you do?” I went on and explained how I am a Life Coach and Nutritionist. And, I am passionate about renewable energy. I’m a solar advocate.”

Then I said, like a side note: “I also work with women who are creating their online businesses.”

Then, she said “So you have an umbrella brand and you are a lifestyle consultant, business coach and solar advocate. That’s great!”

This may sound simple and yet when she said that and as we continued our conversation I realized that I never share how I coach women in starting their online business. It was like a huge aha moment.

I love working with women who are starting their new business. This part of my work began when I was life coaching. Invariably I would have some clients who wanted to begin a business. I shared my knowledge and resources with them in support of their new venture.

Then, I had some close friends who wanted to start a business and requested I support them. Fast forward… and I have been coaching women for 5 years now.

I haven’t worked with hundreds of women. I’ve worked with 15 women. I have walked alongside them showing them how to get started. For me it’s fun and very rewarding!

The work I do with women in business is a significant part of my work and yet I never really talk about it. Why I added this component to my work is simple: I have been there. I’ve been that woman who really wanted to start her own business and had no clue how to get started.

All I knew was that I was willing to go for it! I have done so many things wrong. LOL. I’ve learned so many lessons in my journey as a business owner. In my journey, I discovered that I have a natural instinct in how to put things together.

While I have made a lot of mistakes (I will share those in the future), I’ve also done a lot of things right.

Three Foundational Elements and Lessons I’ve Learned

1. I’ve been consistent in my business. Even when I was in a transition or I was waiting for the resources I needed I have consistently had a presence online. I gave up the drive for perfection and chose to stay steady in my online presence.

2. I’m people centered. I am focused on resourcing people and building relationships. Even when I have not had a product or service offering I have focused on empowering women through mysocial platforms.

3. I’ve focused on building community. I love building groups! I’ve learned so much about how to and how not to do this on the online space.

A Champion for Women Starting Business

It’s kind of funny I never went into business wanting to be a business consultant. I found this passion as I was building my business. I believe in the power of women. We are relentless, passionate, creative and unstoppable.

Every women needs a champion to drive behind her and say GO FOR IT!!! YOU CAN DO THIS!!

The New Layer in my Message

My first online business coach was Sandi Krakowski. I was (and still am) in awe of her. She is simply Sandi. She lives out loud. She advocates and creates products and services that are a natural expression of who she is and what she believes in.

She inspired me to build the same kind of business.

I’ve been criticized over the years for being “all over the place.” I have been told that I don’t finish what I start. It’s been said that I don’t show the “success” in my work.

While I totally understand how it could appear this way, here’s what I can say about the entrepreneur’s journey:

IT’S MESSY. IT’S NOT PERFECT. IT’S NOT LINEAR.

For me personally:

I have discovered what I truly value as I’ve been on this journey. It has taken me 5 years to clarify my message.

What I offer is an expression of what I believe in and what I live by.

I am a serial entrepreneur. My focus has always been 5 streams of income.

It has taken me 4 years to build the infrastructure and build the vision in my heart. At this stage in my process I am clear about the revenue streams I’ve created and I have the structure for growth.

It’s easy to see someone on the outside and critique them. The challenge with doing that is unless you walk with that entrepreneur you have no clue where they are in their growth process as an entrepreneur.

For me, success has taken years. Along the way I’ve had the privilege of touching over 500,000 people across the United States. While I’ve been in my process, lives have been transformed. It has been an incredible journey! AND, I’m not done.

I’ve chosen to start sharing about the work I do, highlight my clients (as they give me permission) and promote fellow women in business.

My Upcoming Plans to Promote Women in Business

As I write this blog, we are a week away from the Thanksgiving Holiday. I will be promoting 3 female small business owners. These are women who all have different stories and backgrounds. Each of them pursued their dream of starting a business. They are successful and inspiring. I’m excited to share them with you!

Stay connected to my Venniece & Friends Facebook page and my podcast. I will be interviewing each of them. Let’s get to know the woman behind the brand.

If you haven’t subscribed to my podcast, please do so. You don’t want to miss the amazing conversations I have with each of these amazing women!!
